Classic rock's biggest stars teamed up to release a strong, diverse abundance of new studio efforts in 2017 - making your job as judge in the Album of the Year category of our Ultimate Classic Rock Fan Choice Awards a rather difficult one.

Robert Plant, Roger Waters, Alice Cooper, Styx, and Cheap Trick are among the acts who added to their already impressive legacies with well-received new records. Gregg Allman delivered a lovely farewell with the bittersweet Southern Blood, and we were reminded of the late-career brilliance of another recently departed legend with David Bowie's No Plan EP.

There were also welcome surprises such as Buckingham / McVie, which found two of Fleetwood Mac's songwriting geniuses teaming up in a fresh new setting - and Bidin' My TIme, the long-awaited solo return of Byrds star Chris Hillman.

As a result of this unusually overflowing bounty, we expanded our pool beyond the 20 candidates of last year. If you need help making a decision - or just want to make sure you're up to date on more of the worthy titles that came out this year - we've also included our own year-end 2017 Albums of the Year rankings below.

If you really want to make sure your favorite album wins - or if you want to split your votes to support multiple artists - you can keep coming back every hour to cast your ballot again and again. Voting for each of the 2017 Ultimate Classic Rock Fan Choice Awards categories ends on Jan. 2, 2018, at 11:59PM ET. As always, the winner will be decided solely by reader’s votes.
