The Palace Of Auburn Hills is set to close after Bob Seger plays there one last time on September 23rd.  As the venue closes,  I will look back at some of the shows I have had the chance to see at the arena.  Next up Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers in 2010.

This was a show I was excited to see as I have never seen them live.   This show was a a part of the "Mojo" tour that was back in 2010.

One of the highlights for this show was that my wife and I received seat upgrades, due to the show not selling.  We were moved from the upper to lower level.

It made a difference as we had a great view of the stage.   Opening the show was the Drive By Truckers.   I was aware of them but didn't know too much about them or their music.   I found their set to be enjoyable and would see them again if they came around.  They were one of those openers that was a great fit for the band they were opening for.

Tom and the band put on a great show featuring many of their classics throughout, along with songs from the album, "Mojo".   They also broke out a great cover of the Fleetwood Mac classic, "Oh Well".

I liked how they opened the show with, "Listen To Her Heart"  one of those under the radar songs from the band I have always enjoyed.  (Check out the setlist for the show here.)  The encore featured "Runnin' Down a Dream" and of course "American Girl".

One of the all time greats that I was glad to finally see live.  I hope I can see them again before Tom calls it a day.
