Alice, X-Men, and The Lobster in Theaters this Weekend
Friend of the Rocker Morning Show, man-about town, movie critic, and raconteur, Ryan Jay stopped by The Rocker Morning Show to talk movies opening this weekend.
- “The first one is better and that disappoints me… because it’s a completely original story that doesn’t follow the book. It’s like fan fiction.”
- “…a lot of the Wonderland one-liners from the first one were recycled in this one. That’s cute but a little disappointing.”
- “The movie is dedicated to Alan Rickman whose voice is in the beginning. I wanted more of him and from the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat. They were underused.”
- “I liked it. It’s still great escapism and a fun time.”
- See it!
- “Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence get top billing and are all great.”
- “Surprisingly dark. It’s PG-13. There was actual red blood which you don’t usually see in PG-13 and they even said the F word here. It almost could have been rated R.”
- “I liked it. It’s a great next chapter – and the Hugh Jackman’s cameo made be fangirl out for a moment.”
- See it!
- “It’s weird with a sci fi bent. It’s an alternate reality where single people are forced to couple up in 45 days or be transformed into the animal of their choice.”
- “The score is incredible too. Some scene that may have been LOL funny were made uncomfy because the music was like what you’d hear in a horror movie.”
- “I felt sick, angry at times. I would totally tell my friends to see this because it’s absurd, atypical and unique. I was entertained.”
- “It’s a weird movie, not for everyone.”
- Rent It!
