I mentioned when Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were in studio last week that there has always been unwavering support for kids, first responders and  our troops.  But, like us, you might feel like support isn't enough.  Well, the American Legion Post in Battle Creek decided to put their name where their mouth is.

According to the Battle Creek Enquirer, on Thursday March 22 Ft. Custer Post 257 of the American Legion will change it's name to SSGT Michael A. Dickinson, II Post 257 of the American Legion during a community celebration at Harper Creek H.S.  Post 257 is the first in Michigan and one of a few in the country to be named for an Iraqi War veteran.  His is a remarkable and tragic story that, unfortunately, has company with many others in recent history.  You can get the whole story by clicking HERE.
