Every town should have one.  Some call them "greasy spoons" others call them a "dive diner".  In my hometown of Kenosha, WI, ours was just called "The Dinner" which was an old train dinning car sitting all by itself as part of the downtown area along Lake Michigan.  It's still there by the way.  Even though the food probably wasn't that great we sure thought it was and the coffee was just what you'd expect.

The folks at msn.com recently revealed the results of the search to find the best hole-in-the-wall diner in each state. And the establishment chosen best in the entire state of Michigan is The Roxy Cafe in Jackson which is about 55 miles from here.  The criteria wasn't just the food but also the "flavor" of the cafe itself.  For instance, there's a sign on the wall at The Roxy Cafe that says: "No Pissy Attitudes".  You can check out more about The Roxy by clicking HERE.
