Monday, November 14 is the next Supermoon, The Moon will be the closest to Earth it’s been since January 1948- nearly 70 years ago. Sciencealert.com tells us

The Moon will appear up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than an average full moon. This is the closest the Moon will get to Earth until 25 November 2034, so you really don’t want to miss this one.

So where is the ideal place for viewing this astronomical anomaly?

Kalamazoo County's highest point of elevation is in a neighborhood between 9th and 10th streets, just North of M-43. A hilltop near R Avenue and 6th Street near Pretty Lake Camp should also afford an elevated viewing point.

Man-made structures also give an excellent platform- consider SkyDeck or perhaps the roof of the parking garage at Borgess Hospital on Gull Road.

See the highest point of elevation in every Michigan county here, and don't miss the Supermoon NASA says "is not only the closest full moon of 2016, but also the closest full moon to date in the 21st century. The full moon won’t come this close to Earth again until 25 November 2034."
