A body found in the woods of a Louisiana town in 1981 laid nameless for over three decades until recently, when DNA testing was able to confirm that she was none other than Kalamazoo resident Carol Anne Cole, MLive reported.

After some fund raising efforts, Carol Anne's sister, Jeanie Phelps, has raised the money to give her a proper burial and memorial service.  For information on the services and to donate to the funeral fund, click here.

I don't know if there is a word to describe the feeling of relief and deep sadness that one must experience when hearing the news that the waiting and the wondering is finally over. My heart goes out to Carol Anne Cole's family and friends at this time.
