Crawlspace Eviction is kicking off their 15th season September 21st and 22nd in a brand new space! Announcing the Crawlspace Comedy Theatre, a new venue located at 315 w. Michigan Ave. You might be thinking, "Hey, isn't that the First Baptist Church?" Yes. Thanks to Kalamazoo Nonprofit Advocacy Coalition, some of the unused real estate in the historic church will be converted to a theatre run by Crawlspace Theatre Productions. The theme for the 2018/2019 season? Soup. "It's soup," said Dann Sytsma, director of Crawlspace Eviction. "It's soup. It's stupid, and I love it." So get ready for Ramen to get things started, and prepare for some changes within Crawlspace Eviction.

Because Crawlspace is now operating their own performance space, they are increasing their season from eight weekends to nine, and, according to the press release, "Crawlspace Comedy Theatre will offer weekly performances, including open mic, stand-up comedy every Monday, twice monthly improv comedy by Crawlspace Eviction and other troupes, sketch comedy and more."

Plus, ticket prices for Crawlspace Eviction shows have DROPPED! “Ticket prices never go down, so we’re excited to be able to do that for our audiences,” said Sytsma. That means each show is $13 rather than $15, and their season subscription is $89 - that's less than $10 per show! Plus, subscribers get 30% off Kalamazoo Improv Fest tickets.

Finally, a dedicated comedy spot right in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo. Look forward to lots of stand-up, open mics, great local sketch comedy, and a lot of other shenanigans. I can't wait to be a part of it.
