Years before Peter Jackson directed Lord of the Rings, he directed one of the bloodiest movies in the history of bloody movies.  Yes, you read that correctly; the dude who directed Lord of the Rings used to direct low budget gore films.  Dead Alive (aka Braindead) is so gosh damned bloody that it makes movies like Saw and Hostel look like Disney films.

Some zoo in New Zealand brings over the infamous and legendary Sumatran "rat-monkey."  Well, the rat-monkey bites main character's Lionel's crazy mother, she turns into a zombie, and eats/infects the entire town.  I don't want to give too much away, but I will say this, the final scene involves Lionel, a lawnmower, and a house full of zombies.

Not only is Dead Alive insanely gory, but it's funny as hell too.  There's a great scene where Lionel takes a zombie baby to the park, and another great scene where we see two zombies have sex.  Yes, you heard right, zombie sex.  I don't remember seeing that in the Walking Dead.
