Day 8: Return of the Living Dead [Horror Film Review]

"They're back from the grave and ready to party!"

Punk rockers and zombies.  Can you think of a better combination?  Maybe punk rockers, zombies and naked chicks.  Wait...wait a second...there are naked chicks!!

Return of the Living Dead acts as if the events of Night of the Living Dead actually happened.  A shipping warehouse accidentally accepts a container with a corpse (from the events of Night) and of course, it's released, and the entire city is overrun by zombies.  But Return of the Living Dead isn't your standard run of the mill zombie movie.  It's the movie that introduced "braaaains!!!" and the fast moving zombie.  Before this, zombies were slow, which makes sense, I mean, you're dead, you shouldn't be able to move fast.  But it works in Return of the Living Dead!

ROTLD has great zombies, great special effects, great laughs, great scares, and a f*cking kick ass death rock soundtrack!   This is another one of the those movies that doesn't take itself seriously, which is probably why it has such a massive cult following.  ROTLD is one of those movies that's worth buying, because you're going to want to watch it over and over again.  In fact, I'll think I'll watch it this afternoon...
