Ah, Suspiria  The only thing more terrifying than the last five minutes of this film are the first 90!

Seriously, Suspiria is a masterpiece.  Plan and simple.  In fact, I'll take it to the next level and say this; Suspiria is the greatest Italian horror film.  Ever.   Everything about Suspiria is freaking brilliant; the way it's shot, the colors that Dario Argento uses, the suspense, the soundtrack....I mean, I literally could gush about this film all day long.  And the death scenes aren't your normal  run of the mill "someone gets killed" and that's it.  There's something beautiful about the way Dario Argento shot them.  I know the word "beautiful" doesn't really go well with "horror," but trust me when I say that it works in this case.

The reason I'm mentioning Suspiria so early on in my posts, is because I want people who have never seen, or heard of Suspiria, to have plenty of time to seek it out during the Halloween season.  Now, if you've never heard of Suspiria, the general plot of the movie is a dancer from America arrives at a ballet school in Italy that's run by witches.  Trust me, it's scary.

The point of these little blogs I'm doing is to introduce people to movies that they may have overlooked, or maybe haven't seen.  Trust me when I say that Suspiria needs to be seen.  If you enjoy Suspiria, check out some of Dario Argento's other films, like Deep Red and Inferno (his Dracula remake is complete trash, so whatever you do, don't watch that).

Editor’s note: Each day in October, Ramone is picking a classic (or cheesy) horror film to review and share
