Detroit Red Wings Home Opener To Be Featured On NBC Sports Network

The Little Caesars Arena era is about to begin.   The first regular season home game for the Red Wings will be October 5th.   NBC Sports Network will let NHL fans checkout the newest arena in the NHL that night.

According to M-Live,  NBC Sports Network will air the game between the Red Wings and the Minnesota Wild on October 5th.  This will be the first regular season game played in the new arena.

Despite the Red Wings record from last season they will be featured 12 times on the network through out the regular season.  They are still one of the most popular franchises in the league only Chicago and Pittsburgh will be featured more on the network during the season.

October 5th is the home opener. The actual first game the Wings will play in the new arena is a preseason game on September 23rd against the Boston Bruins.

We will see if the opening of the new arena and an off season of rest will help the team improve from missing the playoffs last season.
