Thursday, October 1st:
  • East vs. West: Kalamazoo Beer Exchange, 6pm. It's a battle of the breweries for one night only! You have the judges scorecard in your lap as you sample through 28 taps from two great beer makers- Lagunita's and Dogfish Head. Who will prevail-East or West? Contact Jessica for more info!
Friday, October 2nd:
  • Art Hop! with music from Dave Menzo and Friends at Kalamazoo Valley Museum: 6pm-8:30pm, FREE! Dave Menzo is a multi-instrumentalist from Ann Arbor who fuses folk, soul, pop, and world music into his own unique blend. Utilizing looping, he adds beatboxing and guitar layers to each song, creating a driving beat. With his use of effects and layering, you won't believe that he is playing an acoustic guitar. Joined by friends Dede Alder and Scott Kendall, they add a whole new life to Menzo's music. Come see for yourself!
  • Haunted History of Kalamazoo (Haymarket District): Kalamazoo Ballet School, 8pm-10pm, $10. Take our newest tour route - the Haymarket District! Learn about Civil War heroes, the Blood Brothers, the former Casket Company and other spooky locations. Walking tour is approximately 1 mile in length. Young children not recommended. Saturday, October 3rd:
  • Highway to Hell-AC/DC Tribute Show: Kalamazoo State Theater, 8pm-11pm, $25. Highway To Hell is more than just a Tribute Band it’s a cult phenomenon for many. It’s a tale of a band toiling in bars in the Tampa area of Florida in 2005 and with some luck, and a new agent, and a whole lotta talent and charisma they went from small biker bars to huge international stages and massive events! Then they lived the dream of any AC/DC tribute.. to share the same stage with AC/DC members which happened back in 2007, and now they face a future that looks bright with even more big shows and growing following.   • Enchanted Forest Festival (through October 11th): Fat Blossom Farm, 10a-4p, $$5 per person/$20 per family. Walk the trails while touring custom built fairy houses, hobbit habitats, and gnome homes, and then, using only natural materials and your imagination, create your own dwelling! Your entire family will enjoy building right into the sides of trees or on the forest floor. We welcome you to enjoy our picnic area as well. We will also be open by reservation for field trips and large groups on weekdays surrounding the festival.
  • Olde Tyme Harvest Festival (through October 4th): Scotts Mill County Park, $5 adults, children 12 and under free. Presented by the Scotts Olde Tyme Power & Equipment Association. Activities Include: Hayrides to the Pumpkin Patch, Corn Shocks for Sale, Pumpkins for the Kids, Husker Shredder, Antique Tractors, Blacksmithing, Flea Market & Crafts, Flour Mill Demonstrations, Food Concessions, Hit & Miss Engines, Kiddie Train, Planer, Rope Making, Sawmills, Shingle Mill, Oil Pull & Steam Engines, and Old Engines. Free vendor space available.
  • Holiday Boutique Arts and Crafts Show: Kalamazoo Valley Community College, 9a-3p, FREE! Please join us for an amazing day of shopping! This event will have over 70 unique and talented artists, crafters, and vendors from around the Midwest. This event will have quilts, jewelry, candles, wreaths, lighted bottles, soaps, doll clothes, stuffed animals, gourds, hand-embellished shirts, and many more items, all available for purchase. Free admission and free parking.
