Friday, October 9th:

  • Gazelle Sports Historic Walk: 8a, FREE! - Join Gazelle Sports and Lynn Houghton for another exciting year of historical walking tours around the Kalamazoo area. This year they are proud to offer four new tours for you to enjoy!  While enjoying the benefits of walking 1.5 miles, you will learn about your community's rich diversity of history and architecture.  No registration is necessary!

Saturday, October 10th:

  • Fall Expo and Craft Show: 9a-4p, FREE! Kalamazoo Expo Center - Get a jump start on your holiday shopping with dozens of your favorite vendors and crafters from across Michigan.
  • Bonteboktoberfest: 6p-10p - Join Binder Park Zoo and some of Michigan’s finest microbreweries for their annual BontebOktoberfest, a beer tasting event held on Zoo grounds! Tip back a few with the cheetahs, wolves, and snow leopards and enjoy live music, food off the grill, animal presentations, and of course some of the best microbrews that Michigan has to offer – and some wines.   • Downtown Kalamazoo Brewery Bicycle Tour: 10a-4p, $29 - In partnership with Discover Kalamazoo and Kzoo Swift, the vintage bicycle retail and repair shop, this series of tours will let guests ride through downtown Kalamazoo and learn more about the city’s ever-expanding beer culture. You can learn some of the city’s beer history, meet the people behind the current explosion of Kalamazoo beer and try a few samples of the varied styles available around town. Participants in the bike tours will also receive a commemorative water bottle. You are welcome to bring your own bicycle, but rentals from Kzoo Swift will also be available, including the pedicab option for two.
  • Buddy Guy: 8p-11:45p, $45-$100 - At age 78, he’s a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to that city’s halcyon days of electric blues. He has received 6 Grammy Awards, along with a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, 34 Blues Music Awards (the most any artist has received), the Billboard magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone ranked him in the top 25 of its “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.”
  • Kalamazoo Wings Preseason Game: 7p-9:30p, FREE! - The Kalamazoo Wings will host their preseason tilt against the Toledo Walleye and it will be free for the first 600 members of the public to attend. Come out and get excited about the start of hockey season!

  • 2015 Fall Color Cruise: 12p-3:30p, $12-$35 - Spectacular fall colors…a family bike ride…fall activities…the autumn scenery along the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail is a must-see, and the Fall Color Cruise provides the perfect opportunity to experience all of its beauty! Bring your bike and cruise along the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail, enjoying the fall colors and family-friendly activities along the way. This out-and-back route travels on the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail from Markin Glen Park, turning around at the Riverview Launch where there will be fall refreshments to enjoy.
