A Detroit man by the name of Jerome Adams just passed away at the age of 77.  That name didn't mean anything to me either until I found out he was famous for something.  Jerome Adams is famous for inventing what many consider the State Drink Of Michigan.

According to our friends at FOX 2 in Detroit, Jerome created the original 'Hummer', an adult milkshake, 50 years ago at the Bayview Yacht Club on the Detroit River.  I've never had one but apparently it's a blended shake with white rum, Kahlua, vanilla ice cream and ice cubes.  Anyway, I had no idea.  I thought maybe the official drink was beer or wine.  Who knew it was a 'Hummer'.  I guess I'll have to try one and it sure sounds like a pretty good summer drink if we ever get summer!  Check out the rest of the story by clicking HERE.
