A devastating earthquake in Nepal has brought together members of the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd for a charity single called "Save the Children (Look Into Your Heart)." Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood added backing vocals and guitar, respectively, for a session produced by Nick Mason at London's Abbey Road Studios, where his band, Pink Floyd, recorded some of its best-known albums.

Released today on iTunes, "Save the Children (Look Into Your Heart)" features lead vocals by U.K. soul singer Beverly Knight and accompaniment from a 100-voice choir made up of members of Save the Children, a U.K.-based humanitarian organization. "So pleased this is finally getting a release," Mason wrote on Facebook. "It's a great song that was enormous fun to record."

All proceeds, distributed via Save the Childen's Nepal earthquake initiative, go to aid the survivors of the April 25 tragedy that has claimed more than 7,500 lives and injured more than 14,500.

"The terrible events in Nepal show just how vulnerable our fellow man can be in the face of nature," Knight told the Daily Express. "My hope is that the proceeds of this song will go some way to help raise urgently needed funds to repair homes and restore lives."

Mason recorded all or part of Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Final Cut at Abbey Road between 1970-83. Wood also made a return to the legendary studios: He participated in Jeff Beck's sessions for Truth way back in 1968.
