Yesterday, My Wife and I made our annual trip down to Brooklyn to see the August race at Michigan International Speedway.

Not counting my recent ride along at the track, this is the sixth time I've been to M.I.S.  All Six times it has been for the August race. We have great seats near the start finish line.  Great seats that are hard to give up so we have been trying to go to the race each year.

This year, out of all the years I've been to the track, was probably the hottest. It was humid and hot near the track. I can only imagine what the drivers and crews were going through.

The start timed changed, so instead of the usual 1 P.M. start, the race was moved back to 2:30 P.M. At first I didn't know what to think of it, but it didn't really seem to hurt or help the race in my opinion.

I also noticed that there was a new merchandise area. For the years I've gone to the track, there was always a line of trailers featuring the drivers merchandise. They now have an area where they have the gear in open tents. There was also a central check out area, which I thought was a cool idea.

The race turned out to be a completely dominating performance by Matt Kenseth. He had the pole and if he wasn't leading the race, he was near the front right up to the end.

Other than the heat, I enjoyed it. If you haven't made it down to a race at M.I.S. get out to one. it is an experience.
