Today is the 70th birthday of Eric Clapton.  He has released and recorded many legendary albums.  One of my personal favorites, is one of his earliest appearances.  The album from John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers from 1966 (aka Beano).

One of my first shows in radio was a blues show that I did in Lansing back in college.  I didn't really have a big knowledge of blues music so I researched on what I can find.  I don't remember who exactly it was who suggested it, but it was suggested I check out some British Blues.

Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall were two names that I was given.  I went out and bought the early Fleetwood Mac albums with Peter Green.  The other release I got my hands on was John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton from 1966 (aka Beano).

From the sound of "All Your Love" leading off the album, it is vintage Clapton.  It also features an early recorded lead vocal for Clapton on, "Ramblin' on my Mind".

This album is a favorite of mine as it gives us a chance to hear what Clapton would become in Cream.  It's sad I haven't listened to it in a while but I may have to dig it out it's that good.

A very influential album that I'm glad way back in 1997 I had the chance to become familiar with.
