Today is the 40th anniversary of the release of Bruce Springsteen's classic, "Born To Run".  Lots of classic songs on that album but there is one track that is a favorite of mine. That is the second track on the album, "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out".

I played saxophone for many years and have always loved the horn parts on this song.  Clarence Clemons was one of the best and he shines on this song.  He was joined on horns in the song by the Brecker Brothers (Randy and Michael) and also David Sanborn.

These guys were great players and they were all over the place on many classic recordings of the time. If there was a classic horn part in a song more than likely these guys were on it.   I also thought the song was one of the highlights of the halftime performance of  Bruce and the band at Super Bowl XLIII.

"Born In The USA" was my first introduction to Bruce which I'll always remember.   My favorite Springsteen song will always be, "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out".
