We are blessed in Michigan with the Great Lakes.  Because of the lakes, there are a lot of lighthouses in our state.  According to Michigan.org, there are 129 across the Great Lakes.

I have had the chance to see a few of them over the years.  This past weekend on my trip to the Traverse City area, I saw a couple for the first time.

Mission Point Lighthouse, which is at the end of the Old Mission Peninsula north of Traverse City and Grand Traverse Lighthouse, which is at the northern point of the Leelanau Peninsula.

Both of these were unfortunately closed for the season, thankfully  you could still walk around them and check them out.

Hope sometime I can check them out during the season.  Both have some historic grounds to check out. Great lake views as well.   If you enjoy lighthouses and haven't made it up to either of them,  both are worth driving to see.
