He is now a former Detroit Red Wing and is currently playing in Russia.  It has recently been confirmed that Pavel Datsyuk will be in L.A. for the NHL All Star Weekend.   It is not known why he will be in attendance.

According to the story at M-Live, the former Red Wings great is planning to be in L.A. the weekend of January 28th and 29th.   The talk is that he will be named as one of the 100 greatest players in the NHL.   That list was announced with the first 33 players unveiled before the Centennial Classic back on New Year's Day in Toronto.

Five Red Wing greats were a part of that list.   Along with Datsyuk, the Red Wings could still see a few of their greatest players named to the 100.

It has been announced by the NHL that the rest of the 100 will be revealed on Friday, January 27th during the All Star Weekend festivities.   The players will be honored at an event hosted by actor Jon Hamm.
