Uncle Gene has always been a fan of the genre.  He moves like Lon Chaney, and even modeled his makeup after old horror films.  So, it makes sense that one of Gene's endeavors be in horror films.

According to Rolling Stone, Gene and WWE Studios have teamed up to form Erebus Pictures.  According to a press release, Erebus Pictures will release and finance more "elevated horror moves."  I have no idea what that means.

In Fangoria issue 300, Gene mentioned that he's not a fan of blood and guts and torture.  He prefers movies like Psycho over movies like Saw, so I would have to imagine his new company would produce more atmospheric horror films, ala the old Universal Pictures of the 1930s.

The first film he will produce/release is called Temple.

According to Rolling Stone  - Matt Savelloni (Exile to Babylon) wrote the film, which is scheduled to begin filming this summer. The film tells the story of a team of highly trained operatives who find themselves locked in a military compound and confronted with "strange and horrific phenomena" as they try to figure out how the previously stationed team met their demise.  "The horror genre continues to fascinate me as it proves to be endlessly thrilling and engaging for audiences," Simmons said in a statement.

Well there you have it, Kiss and wrasstin' fans.  Uncle Gene is going to make horror films. I hope his horror films are better than his solo albums...
