It has become an annual holiday tradition along with College Football Bowl games. The Great Lakes Invitational will return to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit this December. 

According to the Detroit Red Wings, the 54th season of the annual College Hockey Tournament will feature host Michigan Tech.  It will also feature University of Michigan and Michigan State University.

The 4th spot rotates each year and this year will feature Lake Superior State.  The tournament will be on Sunday, December 30th and Monday, December 31st.

Michigan Tech will play Michigan at 1 p.m. in the first game.  The second game will be Michigan State against Lake Superior State following the first game at 4 p.m.

Day two will see the third place game played at 11:30 p.m with the championship game at 2:30 p.m.  The championship game will be followed by the Red Wings New Year's Eve game against the Florida Panthers.

Bowling Green won it last season.   Michigan has the most title wins in the history of the event.
