Hail! Caeser, The Choice, and Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies!
Friend of the Rocker Morning Show, man-about town, movie critic, and raconteur, Ryan Jay stopped by The Rocker Morning Show to talk movies opening this weekend.
- Hail! Caesar
- Movie is a beautifully decorated cake, but it’s a mess.
- Supposed to be a comedy – no one laughed once.
- The trailer made it look amazing and it’s not.
- It means nothing. It’s boring.
- Skip it!
- The Choice
- Just looking at the poster and the name Nicholas Sparks was enough to lower my expectations for this movie. But I’m surprised and happy to say this is the best N Sparks film since The Notebook!
- The chemistry between Ben Walker and Teresa Palmer is phenomenal.
- The soundtrack, on the other hand, is horrendous! Every time a song came on, with lyrics, I cringed. It was, like, super low budge sounding and took the whole production value down a notch.
- But this movie is great!
- See it!
- Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies
- This is a cool, fun movie. It’s truly a juxtaposition of the classic Jane Austen tale and zombies.
- It truly is but it’s the first time I’ve jumped out of my seat in a period romantic drama, so I loved that
- …you can never tire of seeing a dainty, classic beauty in proper dress and hair, pull out a knife or sword and go to town on the undead. It was, like, eye-popping to watch.
- And it’s so not a chick flick! It’s the perfect date movie because it has something for everyone – it’s romantic, action-y, funny, dramatic, cool, different. All good.
- See it!
