Yesterday marks the 30th anniversary of the release of "Super Mario Brothers" one of the most popular video games of all time.

It was released in Japan before being released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

I think the first time I ever played it was at a neighbor's house. My brother and I didn't have a Nintendo — we were still playing games on our old Commodore Vic 20. I also had a table top portable Frogger game (which I still have today).

It was one of those games that was very addictive. It seems like anytime we could go over to our neighbor's, we were there playing Super Mario Brothers.

I eventually got pretty good at playing it. I don't remember any high scores that I had on the game, but I do remember getting pretty far in it. Once my brother and I finally got our own NES system, we played it to death.

A true classic that is still fun to play today. Happy 30th to a legendary game.
