Ever purchased an original Playstation 3?   If so Sony may owe you some cash.

According to the story from Click On Detroit,  due to a class action lawsuit those who purchased an original PS3 known as the "phat PS3" maybe eligible for up to $65 from Sony.

The original PS3 was released originally as a bulky console with a white stripe in front.    It eventually had slimmer versions released in the years after the originally launch.

If you want to make a claim you needed to have purchased an original Playstation 3, brand new from a authorized retailer between November 2006 through April 1st, 2010.

You must also claim that you used the other operating system function, which is what the class action lawsuit was about.

Last there is a form that needs to be filled out that ask for the console serial number and your Playstation network information.

If you are looking to file a claim you need to do so soon as they are only taking claims through April 15th.   For more questions on if you are eligible or if you have the correct system you can contact Sony.

Playstation 3 has since been succeeded by Playstation 4 which was released in 2013.
