After spending their last two games away from home, the Kalamazoo Wings return to the friendly confines of Wings Event Center as the Wings will team up with New Year’s Fest in downtown Kalamazoo for a special New Year’s weekend against the Elmira Jackals.

Kalamazoo and Elmira will square off twice during the weekend, beginning with a special 6:00 p.m. start time on Thursday, December 31 in the annual New Year’s Eve game at Wings Event Center. Kalamazoo and Elmira have met three times this season, all at First Arena in Elmira, with the Wings posting a 1-2-0 record against the Jackals.

Fans who attend Thursday’s game will be given free noise makers and special New Year’s hats, and will be able to purchase $5 tickets and $3 reserved parking passes to the 30th annual New Year’s Fest, which takes place all over downtown Kalamazoo.

Saturday is faith night at Wings Event Center, where local groups will be brought out for game two of the weekend series and a special faith-based concert after the game.

On Sunday evening, Kalamazoo will team up with RepcoLite for the second annual kids paint the ice event. Area organizations will use the ice at Wings Event Center as a blank canvass and transform it into an eccentric piece of artwork ahead of a January 8 contest with the Brampton Beast, presented by MI Blood.

Kalamazoo is coming off a weekend in which they went 1-1-0, including scoring a season-high seven goals in a 7-4 victory over the Wheeling Nailers on Sunday at WesBanco Arena.
