How Did I Miss All of Those Comics

Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken over in recent years, I have been a big fan of the world of Marvel.  I have watched the movies, I have read the backgrounds on a lot of the characters. I am also a fan of Marvel Agents of Shield.  The thing is I never read the comics. 

My first exposure to the world of Marvel comics would of been, "Spider-man and His Amazing Friends".  A great Marvel series that aired from 1981-1983.  It featured most of the major Marvel Characters and was a great introduction to the world of Marvel.  

You would think after watching that I would of read the comics, nope.  I can't really answer why I didn't read the comics.  Just never had the desire to track them down and read them.  I'm glad at least now with the Cinematic Universe I can re-live what I missed not reading those comics.
