James Young of Styx On The Rocker Morning Show [Video]

We've had a lot of rock stars on The Rocker Morning Show over the last 24 years, but not many have been as entertaining as James Young "J.Y.," who's the lead guitarist of Styx.

Not only is J.Y. one of the greatest in a small universe of greats, he's also a very cool guy and, in many ways, very normal.

Talking with him makes you feel like you could hang out and he wouldn't be condescending (that means talking down to someone).

He is, however, one of the few players that actually "plays his personality." By that, I mean his style is most times hard and sometimes soft. But there is an intangible that you hear and can only identify if you know him a little or a lot.

And you can hear for yourself on Dec. 4 when Styx makes a triumphant return to the Kalamazoo State Theatre in downtown Kalamazoo.
