On Aug. 4, Jane's Addiction is going to released Ritual de lo Habitual Alive at 25, a live Blu-ray or DVD/CD combo that celebrates the 25th anniversary of 1990 breakthrough, Ritual de lo Habitual. You can watch the trailer for it above.

The 85-minute concert was recorded at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif., on May 30, and includes a performance of the entire album plus a handful of other songs. Last year, they embarked on a full-scale tour behind the album that concluded with a set at Lollapalooza, which was founded in 1991 by frontman Perry Farrell as a farewell tour. For guitarist Dave Navarro, playing some of the album's deeper cuts required a bit of work.

"In preparing for the tour, I had to re-learn quite a bit of the album,” he told Billboard. “It was inspiring to undo some of the rules we have become used to in our later years and get back in touch with a more expansive and unorthodox approach. Staying in this mindset made for an extra special celebration tour and we were oddly able to become our own inspiration...The students teaching the masters.”

However, it's possible that Navarro didn't prepare for a controversy that surfaced while they were on the road about the scantily women who served as dancers. This included Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau, who performed a striptease and simulated sex with her husband during the show. “I understand all of the conversations about empowerment and reclaiming one’s body through dancing," one concertgoer commented, "but last night was misogynistic, objectification at its worst.” Farrell responded by re-tweeting a link to an article about the women and writing, "(Do not miss) 8 scantily clad sexpots!"
