Jason Becker – ALS Victim

If you're not familiar with Jason Becker, let me give you a quick crash course: Jason Becker is one of the greatest guitar players ever.  When he was a teenager, he formed Cacophony with Marty Friedman (Megadeth) and replaced Steve Vai in David Lee Roth's solo band.  Shortly after Jason got the gig with DLR, he was diagnosed with ALS.  Jason's case is so extreme, that he is now confined to a wheelchair, has a breathing tube hooked up to his throat, and has to communicate with his eyes.

I bring this up because everyone is doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge but many of you don't know what ALS is, and what a terrible disease it is.  Jason Becker recently did his own ice bucket challenge which you can watch below.
