Kalamazoo Wings’ Sam Ftorek Illustrates First Children’s Book

When he's not defending goals, Kalamazoo Wings (K-Wings) hockey player Sam Ftorek draws.  I suppose that's an understatement...

Ftorek teamed up with long-time friend Amy Goodwin to illustrate her first children's book "The Bright Knight" after she saw his gel-pen and colored-pencil drawings on display at Art Hop last year.  Geared toward toddlers and early-elementary students who are learning colors, days-of-the-week, and synonyms, the pair published "The Bright Knight" on Feb. 6, 2015.  Part of the proceeds go to the Ann Ftorek Memorial Scholarship Fund with Up With People.
