The Kalamazoo Wings roster continues to see overhauls as the home opener lingers on Friday night. Dane Fox has been re-assigned by the Vancouver Canucks to Kalamazoo, the team announced Wednesday.

Fox, 22, spent all of last year on re-assignment in Kalamazoo, and posted 30 goals, second most on the Wings. Fox’s 110 penalty minutes were also second most on Kalamazoo, while his 45 points were good enough to tie him for fourth on the club.

The second year pro was signed as a free agent by the Vancouver Canucks in December of 2013 in the midst of a breakout season with the Erie Otters (OHL). In the 2013-14 campaign, while with the Otters, Fox scored an OHL leading 64 goals in 67 games and added 107 points, which were second most in the league.

In a separate transaction, forward Tanner Sorenson and goaltender Ryan DeMelo have been signed to ECHL contracts after attending training camp on tryouts.

Sorenson, 22, played three games with Alaska (ECHL) last season at the conclusion of his four year career at Michigan State University (CCHA/Big-10). The rookie forward, a native of Anchorage, Alaska, scored 18 career goals and 35 career points while at MSU.

DeMelo, 25, appeared in 13 games with Brampton (ECHL) last season after a three year career at Elmira College (ECAC-W). The native of Brampton, Ontario, posted a 4-5-0 record for the Beast last year with a goals against average of 4.28 and a save percentage of .860%.

In another transaction, Joe Sova was traded to the Tulsa Oilers for future considerations. Sova had skated in 94 games with Kalamazoo since 2013 and won a Kelly Cup championship with the Florida Everblades in 2012.
