Nobody needs to tell us what a great place this is to live.  We've got the lakes, the beer, the beaches, the beer, the schools, the beer, the healthcare, the beer, the variety of arts & entertainment, the beer and, of course, the beer.

Despite the Winters (this last one being brutal) we don't want to live anywhere else.  So even without the top 5 showing our opinion wouldn't be swayed.  But for the rest of the state, the Midwest and the nation this is yet another reason why the West side is the best side and Kalamazoo stands out above the rest.

According to Kiplinger, a leader in personal finance, news, business forecasting, taxes, real estate, cars, college and more, Kalamazoo is one of the cheapest cities to live in the U.S. in 2018.  Not only are we in the top 10, we're in the top 5!  And as far as I'm concerned, there's only one other city on the list that I'd even consider living in- Knoxville. Here's the list:

1. McAllen, Texas

2. Conway, Arkansas

3. Harlingen, Texas

4. Kalamazoo, Michigan

5. Wichita Falls, Texas

6. Knoxville, Tennessee

7. Memphis, Tennessee

8. Jonesboro, Arkansas

9. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

10. Brownsville, Texas
