UPDATE: The body of the 35-year old Kalamazoo man who went missing while kayaking has been found.

WSBT.com reports,

Berrien County Sheriff's Office confirms a body has been recovered from the St. Joseph River.

It is believed to be Michael Scott-- the man who went missing while canoeing with friends over the weekend.


 

The Berrien County Sheriff's Office has been joined on the search by members of the Kalamazoo Paddle Club and friends of the missing man.  People are walking the banks of the St. Joseph River and searching the water from their kayaks for any sign of him.

He was last seen near the Jasper Dairy Boat Launch according to a member of the search party.

According to WSBT,

Officials received a report of the missing kayaker on Saturday just after 6:45 p.m.

The sheriff’s office marine division and dive team will be searching the river and surrounding areas on Sunday.
