Joe Roberts from the Kwings sent us the preview of the jerseys that will be worn for the Heritage Week games.  As you'll see, there's the 'retro' and the 'future'.  I think they both look very cool.  What do you think?

Here's what's coming up next week...

The ECHL on Monday unveiled the jerseys for the 2016 CCM/ECHL Hockey Heritage Week presented by PNC Bank and Bronson Sports Medicine and hosted by the Kalamazoo Wings from February 1-6.

During the Hockey Heritage Week games, the Kalamazoo Wings and Toledo Walleye will wear special jerseys for both games.

The Friday, February 5 game celebrates the past and the heritage of both Kalamazoo and Toledo hockey. The K-Wings will wear red jerseys with blue and white trim that harkens back to the logo crest worn by the team from 1974-1995 when they were part of the International Hockey League. The Walleye will wear throwback jerseys that are green with white and gold trim and modeled after the jerseys worn by the Toledo team when they were part of the International Hockey from 1974-1986. Toledo’s jerseys will be available in an online auction from The MeiGray Group at a later date.

On Saturday, February 6, the focus shifts to the future, as both teams will wear jerseys that envision a modern look, in the first-ever CCM Edge jerseys to be worn in an ECHL game. Kalamazoo will sport white jerseys with a stylized blue “K”, while the Walleye will don black jerseys featuring interlocking fish hooks as the center crest. Both sets of jerseys will be available in an online auction from The MeiGray Group at a later date.

The Stanley Cup will be a part of Hockey Heritage Week festivities and will arrive in the afternoon on Monday, February 1, and make stops at Bronson Children’s Hospital and Bronson Sports Medicine, before a general viewing at Old Burdick’s Wings West for those who have purchased tickets for either of the games on February 5 or 6 against the Toledo Walleye.

Day two of the tour features Lord Stanley’s Cup paying a visit to local radio stations and other media outlets before arriving at Wings Event Center for the final general viewing opportunity for those coming to either the February 5th or February 6th game.

The 2016 CCM/ECHL Hockey Heritage Weekend presented by PNC Bank and Bronson Health also includes the Ninth Annual ECHL Hall of Fame Luncheon presented by BFL Canada to be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 12:00 p.m., at the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites. The event will feature Detroit Red Wings’ General Manager and Executive Vice President Ken Holland to deliver the keynote welcome before inducting the ninth class – Daniel Berthiaume, Craig Brush and Allan Sirois – into the ECHL Hall of Fame.
