A new restaurant opening in Kalamazoo almost went off with a bang this weekend.

A man walked into the new restaurant Saturday night with a gun on his waistband starting confrontations with customers.

According to the Kalamazoo County Police,

Callers advised that a subject had entered a restaurant and was confronting patrons when he presented a handgun from his waistband. Officers from Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department, Kalamazoo Twp. PD, and Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded, and the subject was taken into custody without incident as he leaving the busienss. The handgun was recovered and the subject has been lodged on Felonious Assault and Carrying a Concealed Weapon charges. He is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail with no bond.

This incident comes just 24 hours after the Battle Creek Bombers held an "Open Carry Night."  No incidents reported at the Bombers game.
