Meramec Caverns Another Cool Stop off Route 66

Another one of the Highlights of my recent trip on Route 66 is Meramec Caverns in Missouri.  These are the Caverns that were advertised on barn's along the route for years and was also the hideout for the James Brothers.One of the cool things about the caves is the temperature, if you've been to Missouri in the summer you know it is hot and humid.  In the caves, the temperature was i believe in the low 60's.  So was nice to escape the heat for awhile and to check out the caverns.  The tour covers about a mile and 1/4 round trip and you see a lot of formations including one of the highlights for me something they called, the "Theater Curtain". If you've never been in a cave these are worth checking out if your ever in Central Missouri.
