If you are a regular camper at Michigan State Park campsites keep in mind that you will now pay a fee if you cancel a reservation.

According To Michigan Department of Natural Resources,  you will be charged $10 to change or cancel a reservation starting on November 1st.

There will also be a fee depending on how long the reservation is between the time it was made and the actual date of that reservation.  This fee ranges from 10 to 40 percent depending  on how many months out of the reservation date.

If you want to add on nights to the reservation there will be no fee.  This policy change is to urge campers to finalize their plans for the upcoming season.

If you are looking to reserve a site for the next year you can still make reservations up to six months in advance.
