You know what I just learned today? There exists an International Flipper Pinball Association, and they're waiting with bated breath to see who wins the responsibility of  representing Michigan at their Nationals tournament in Las Vegas. 16 pinball fanatics from The Mitten are set to compete in the 5th annual State Championship Series on January 20th. According to Chris Tabaka, the tournament director, the State Championship will take place "at a private facility just north of Kalamazoo." A $100 prize will be awarded to the winner who will also get a coveted place for Nationals.

There have been more than 2,000 tournaments with over 11,120 players competing so far to see who really is the Pinball Wizard. Winner of the National competition will win an NIB Stern Pro Pinball Machine, trophy, and, of course, bragging rights. Just some of the perks that come along with being crowned “US National Pinball Champion”.
