If you think that you can get high and drive around now that Prop 1 was approved in the state of Michigan, you're way wrong. Michigan State Police can still give you a roadside drug test. Last year in five counties which include St. Clair, Washtenaw, Kent, Barron, and Delta, the MSP began this as a test project. Those who were tested were not random incidents. The Police were instructed to pull over drivers for seeming to be impaired and then conduct a roadside cheek swab drug test. The officers also checked your pupils, blood pressure and ask you to perform tasks similar to a sobriety test, as originally reported last year by WXYZ.

Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue, director of the MSP said "Motorists under the influence of drugs pose a risk to themselves and others on the road. With drugged driving on the rise, law enforcement officers need an effective tool to assist in making these determinations during a traffic stop."
