I heard a story the other day about a guy at a stop light returning a text.  The light was red, he was just sitting there and got popped for inattentive driving and had to pay between $100 and $200 for the first offense.  That sends a message about how serious law enforcement is about texting and driving.

According to Click On Detroit, the Michigan State Police will be out in force because April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and because it's the right thing to do every month.  We could go into all the stats but as a frequent driver I can tell you that I am on high alert more now than ever before and not just with younger drivers.  I've seen so many older drivers trying to text, talk, play games and take pictures while driving that it makes me not want to drive at all.  You should check out the stats cuz they're a real eye-opener.  Click HERE and be amazed.
