Most of the scams out there right now have to do with holiday shopping, personal information and phone activity.  This is the world we live in and we just have to be careful at every turn.  It isn't enough that we can have our money stolen without us doing anything to cause the crime.  And then there are those that fall for the "it's too good to be true" situations as one Michigan woman got involved in.

According to a piece on freep.com, a Dearborn woman was scammed out of $30,000 after she thought she had established and online relationship with Tom Cruise; yes, that Tom Cruise.  It all started when she friended "Tom" on Facebook which, I guess, is possible.  However, from there conversations started and things were said if you know what I mean.  Then "Tom" instructed her to deposit 3 fraudulent checks worth $9,800 each into her personal checking account and then send "Tom" the money.  Ya know, like you do cuz Tom is also SHORT on cash.  Check out the rest of the story and other scams happening here in Michigan by clicking HERE.
