Michigan International Speedway host all sorts of events throughout the year and in 2019 you can add hockey. The speedway in Brooklyn will host a Backyard Hockey Tournament in January.

According to Michigan International Speedway, the speedway is set to host the first Backyard Hockey tournament January 4-6 and January 11-13.

The tournament will take place inside the tri-oval and will feature three on three and four on four competition.

The first two days of action will feature teams of all levels of hockey ages 20 years old and under. The other two days will have teams featuring adult and women leagues.

Along with the hockey that will be taking place, there will also be a winter festival that will feature food, drinks and all sorts of winter events along pit road.

If you want to play in the tournament you have to register and pay an entry fee of $450 per team.  Registration deadline for the event is October 15th and you can get more details on signing your team up here.

Each team that participates will play 5 games and more if they play for the championship.
