It's official, friends!  I'm done with Phase 2 of the Nutrimost program; the Detox. I'm not going to lie, it was tough... eating a lovely (dry) fresh salad of mixed greens, strawberries, and chicken while the rest of the world around me gloats about diving in to thirds on Thanksgiving, was a test of will power not soon forgotten.

And the pumpkin pie... so much pumpkin pie.

I'm pretty sure that if the Greek Myths were updated, surviving Thanksgiving on a 500 calories (no fat, no oil, no sugar)  would have been one of the 12 Labors of Hercules.

(Be gone, blasted Ambrosial Temptation!!!)

But, I stayed strong thought the detox, and find myself, at the end... 110 pounds.  Yup. That's about 20 pounds of weight loss. And if you thought I was done, and graduated from the program, you would be mistaken.  Phase 4: the 21 Day Reset, started Monday.  What's that?  Glad you asked!  Every day I'm adding one new food to my diet, foods that were previously Nutrimost contraband, like healthy oils and fats (avocado, almonds,  that kind of thing).  Every day I add something and monitor VERY closely how it affects my weight.  No change?  I can eat that food!  Change... well, then I need to have a long talk with that food... the old "It's not you, it's me," conversation, and bid that item adieu.  Not only am I adding foods, I'm adding calories. I'm now expected to eat a little over 1,500 calories a day - breakfast, lunch, dinner, two snacks!  For someone who has had difficultly eating more than one meal a day (in the past), you think this would pose a problem.  I'm happy to report that I wake up every morning hungry - for the first time in probably 20 years I have an appetite.  That is HUGE for me, and I have Nutrimost to thank for it.

I know you keep hearing me say that Nutrimost isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change.  I realize now how true that is.  After the detox, and while I'm adding new foods in, I'm looking at food in a whole new way.  All the fast food I have steered clear from during the detox, I don't even want it anymore!  I've completely cleaned out my Pinterest recipe board of starches and sugars.  I have no need for fast food.  I'm cooking in a whole new way.  I even have enough energy these days to join a gym.

Ew.... who am I?

I know what you're thinking... where are the "after pictures"?  They are coming, I promise.  Just be patient.  Thanksgiving weekend was a whirlwind, and it got away from me before I had the thought to hand my phone over to someone for a quick shot.  But, 20 pounds down (and a metabolic age of 18... barely legal), I think those pics are worth waiting for.

Until next week!
