Many have wondered when The Fabulous Freebirds would finally be honored by the WWE.  This week WWE announced that the Freebirds will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame this year.

The group consisted of Michael "P.S" Hayes, Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy and Buddy "Jack" Roberts.  Later on during their days in WCW they were joined by Jimmy "Jam" Garvin.

According to WWE, the group inspired, "The Freebird" rule which is still used today.    Michael Hayes also recorded the song, "Badstreet U.S.A" which became their theme back in 1983.  The song also inspired many to have their own original entrance music.

I unfortunately didn't get a chance to see the team in their prime as I missed their brief run in the WWE in 1984.   I also didn't watch much of WCW during their run there. Luckily I have gone back and seen footage of some of their legendary battles with the Von Erich family in Texas.

A Legendary team that will join the already announced Sting and The Godfather in the WWE Hall Of Fame April 2nd.
