The University of Minnesota is investigating former WMU football coach P.J. Fleck for his possible recruitment of Western Michigan University football players.

According to WWMT, Bronco linebacker Robert Spillane has issued a statement that he has obtained a release, from the Bronco football team, “to pursue alternative academic and football opportunities.” WMU suspects that Coach Fleck may have contacted other Bronco players, in violation to NCAA rules.

WWMT reports that Minnesota has checked the phones of Fleck and his coaching staff, but has not yet responded to the charges.
