Drastic financial times call for drastic financial measures... okay, I might be exaggerating just a bit. I am not exactly in a drastic situation regarding money, but I do dream about one day having a savings account.  Wouldn't that be loverly? I've already been doing the quick-and-dirty ways to save money (brown bagging lunch, buying groceries on sale, making coffee at home, etc.), but I still find myself paycheck to paycheck.

After reading an article around the first of the year about a woman who saved $27,000 by committing to a "Buy Nothing Year" my interest was peaked. A quick spin through the book The Spender's Guide to Debt-Free Living: How a Spending Fast Helped Me Get from Broke to Badass in Record Time by Anna Newell Jones, I was even more motivated to challenge myself to saving every last penny I could. Consider this Definitely Bishop my Declaration of Financial Independence.
