Just last week we had the General Mills Gold Medal Flour recall due to salmonella concerns.  I'm not sure if there are any correlations with the backlog caused by the government shutdown and the number of future recalls but I wouldn't be surprised.  There's talk the IRS could take a year to get back on track.  At any rate, here's the next food recall to take into consideration.

According to businessinsider.com, the FDA has posted a recall notice for fresh fruit sold by Walmart, Costco and Aldi in 18 states including Michigan.  The issue is the possibility of listeria contamination.  The fruit in question is peaches, nectarines and plums.  Symptoms of listeria include high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.  And in some cases listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.  So far no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.  Get more information by clicking HERE.
