With the way things have gone this season for the Detroit Red Wings, I was beginning to wonder if they would have an All Star representative.  Today the NHL announced the roster and one Red Wings player is on it.

According to Winging It In Motown,  Red Wings forward Frans Nielsen is on the roster for the Atlantic Division team.   If you are not familiar with the format of the All Star game it features  four teams from each division in the NHL.

The Atlantic team will be captained by Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price. Nielsen is currently third on the Red Wings with 8 goals and 14 assists.

The All Star game this year will be in Los Angeles the weekend of January 28th and 29th.    The weekend will also feature the release of the 67 remaining names of the 100 Greatest NHL Players.  The list will be announced at a special event on January 27th.
